A guide to help you spot risky claims early. It checks the wording of your claim against the rules for UK TV ads in every sector the BCAP Code and Clearcast cover, with extra rules for children, young adults and over 50s. It can't judge pictures, sound or scheduling.
This result is an indication based on the wording only. We can't be certain how Clearcast will judge your claim and this doesn't replace their advice. UK TV ads need Clearcast approval before broadcasters will air them. That's usually handled by whoever makes the ad. When you make your ad with Vizulaiz, we always handle Clearcast for you.
Get what we found in your wording, the evidence Clearcast will want and similar claims that have been allowed or banned.
Copy your result, then paste it into the short form. We read every report.
Search past rulings from the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority), the independent body that regulates UK advertising and rules on complaints about ads. It also covers the government's list of approved health claims for food and supplements.
Recent rule changes that affect what ads can say.
We write TV scripts around the claims that clear, so nothing gets cut at the last stage. Bring your claim and we'll tell you how we'd make it work on screen.

This checker gives an automated, indicative reading of ad wording. It isn't legal or regulatory advice and it isn't a Clearcast decision, pre-clearance or guarantee. Clearcast and the ASA judge the whole ad: the pictures, sound, context, scheduling and the evidence you hold. Rules and rulings also change over time. Every UK TV ad still needs Clearcast approval before it airs. Vizulaiz can't accept liability for decisions made using this checker.

The Great Britain nutrition and health claims register (version dated 19 May 2026) is Crown copyright and contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The BCAP Code, ASA rulings and CAP guidance are the copyright of the ASA and CAP. We summarise them in our own words and link to the originals on the ASA website. Advertisers are described by type rather than named. Each ruling links to the full decision on the ASA website. The checker's rules are built from more than 250 ASA, CAP and Clearcast guidance pages, read in full and checked in September 2026. The rulings included are a selection from September 2021 onwards, plus TV ad rulings from 2016 and landmark earlier cases the ASA still cites, across every sector in the checker, including rulings published up to 30 September 2026. The sectors were cross-checked against the BCAP Code, the ASA's full Advice Online library and Clearcast's Notes of Guidance and appendices. Ofcom's Broadcasting Code (Section 9 on sponsorship credits), Ofcom's telecoms price rise rules and the political advertising ban in the Communications Act 2003 are included, along with UK law that affects ad wording: the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, the less healthy food regulations, the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, the Renters' Rights Act 2025, the Hallmarking Act 1973, FCA rules and the Gambling Commission's 2026 bonus rules. FCA rules (© Financial Conduct Authority) and Clearcast's published guidance are summarised in our own words too. Northern Ireland follows the EU claims register, which this checker doesn't cover.
Claims and licence text you type are checked inside your browser and aren't saved or sent to us. To see the full breakdown we ask for your first name and email (and your brand, if you choose). We use these to show your result and, only if you tick the box, to send you occasional emails. Problem reports go through a separate form run by Microsoft Forms.
If a result looks wrong or you need a category we don't cover, tell us with this short form.
Rulings last updated 30 September 2026. New ASA rulings are reviewed and added weekly.
